Rare Jewels of the Rain Forests

Rare Jewels of the Rain Forests

Amelia Earhart’s birthplace, beautiful Atchison, Kansas, inspired her to fly after seeing her first airplane at 12 years of age. Something really cool is flying in to Atchison June 17th. The Atchison Library is hosting a FREE bird program at 11am.

You will meet some severely endangered parrots INCLUDING a hyacinth macaw, the largest of all parrots in the world. You’ll meet one of the smallest parrots in the world too, a parrotlet. We’re bringing the largest type of owl in the world, an Eurasian eagle-owl, who will silently glide over the audience at the end of the program. You’ll also hear birds speak on cue and maybe even sing!

Our show will last approximately 40 minutes, with questions/answers following. We hope to see you there. This is amazing WHOLESOME family entertainment and very educational for people of all ages. From 2 up to 102 years old.
